I love reading blogs. Why? Because they are so much more friendly and personal. Don't you think? It's my break from readings on modernity, translation, and other theory stuffs like Foucault, Habermas, Kant, and Marx (that can drive a person insane). This place is also where I can vent like a normal person without having to put on a "I am a graduate student, and, therefore, speak in complete sentences with perfect grammar." Also, I updated my bio page because I have a semi-official spiel now! and there are too many Melissa Chan's in the world, so I was told that I needed to be differentiated from the sea of Melissa Chans. I am not Melissa K. Chan, the reporter from English Al Jeezera. I am not Melissa Chan, the UCLA gymnast. I am not Melissa Chan the soprano opera singer. I AM MELISSA M. CHAN, the AWESOME. HA!
